Allied Health Services

Here at Burpengary Station medical Centre, we are partnered with Allied Health Services Australia. Together, we aim to assist our pateints who have specific conditions and require additional care and support from other health professionals.

We are currently offering monthly sessions with our dietitian, Marlya Purchase. To help our patients to understand why they would see a dietitian, we have put together some information for you.

What does a dietitian do?

The role of a dietitian is to collect, organise and assess data relating to your health and nutritional status.

What would I see a dietitian for?

Going to see a dietitian is all about getting assistance with the management of centered nutrition. They are able to assist you with planning appropriate food choices and menus, education you on your individual nutrition needs and can even help you when it comes to accessing and preparing food.

Do I have to pay to see a dietitian?

The best option here is to ask your doctor, if your GP provides you with a referral to see the dietitian, it will affect the fee which is payable. However, you are able to see the dietitian with or without a metabolic disorder. For more information on fees for this service, please contact our friendly reception team.

How do I book in to see the dietitian at Cashmere Medical Centre?

You can call Burpengary Station Medical Centre on 3888 9676 to find out the consultation fees and appointment times. Alternatively, you can book online to see one of our GPs who may be able to assist you with your needs and help you access to dietitian - we are a bulk billing practice so as long as you have a valid Medicare card, no fee is payable for a standard consultation with the GP.
